While we love to design beautiful furniture and interiors at FRATO, we don’t believe in creating shrines to style. Yes, homes should look good, but they should also support the way you live – something our latest concept pulls off with panache. A primely located penthouse apartment overlooking Los Angeles, its interior has been designed to counterbalance the city’s dense, vibrant energy in a way that feels both elegant and easy-going.
Featuring a modern, open-plan layout, the cocooning space makes the most of its impressive views – these are framed by floor-to-ceiling windows that wash the interior with the colours of the city’s famed sunsets every evening. Flowing seamlessly between living, dining and kitchen zones, the penthouse is kitted out with characterful yet clean-lined furniture that successfully strikes the delicate balance between comfort and sophistication.
In the living area, a variety of signature seating options provide ample opportunity to kick back and relax. The centrally arranged HALKI sofa, matching GSTAAD II armchairs and HYDRA accent chair provides focus and facilitate get-togethers with family and friends, while in a separate corner, a COMO armchair and PAROS coffee table come together to invite moments of quiet contemplation.
In the atmospheric dining area, a TREVISO table is paired with four CRETE chairs and a statement TAIF ceiling lamp creating a spot that’s just as suited to formal hosting as it is intimate suppers. Meanwhile, in the nearby kitchen, two tall PALMA bar stools add texture to the smooth, functional surfaces of the units and counter, providing a place to enjoy a casual bite to eat.
What truly sets the tone here, however, is the colour palette. Featuring a soft wash of chalky hues that range from gentle grey to classic beige to dusky pink, it’s applied consistently throughout, across walls, furniture and upholstery, adding a luxurious warmth to the penthouse’s contemporary architecture. The result is so effortlessly chic, it’s hard to imagine having a bad day here!
